Join Docomomo DC for an in-person guided tour of the Kreeger Museum, one of Washington, DC’s most celebrated examples of mid-century modern architecture. This special tour offers a rare opportunity to explore the architectural vision of Philip Johnson and Richard Foster, who collaborated on the museum’s design in the 1960s.

Nestled on five acres of sculpture-dotted gardens, the museum blends the elegance of modernist design with materials that connect the building to its natural surroundings, including travertine marble and teak. Johnson’s integration of clean geometry, natural light, and formal procession reflects his shift toward monumentality and contextual sensitivity during this era.

Following the tour, we’ll gather in the garden (weather permitting) for informal networking and conversation about Docomomo DC membership and board opportunities.

Tickets: $15 at the door for museum entrance.

Docomomo DC is covering the additional cost of the guided tour.

Registration: Event is limited to 25 participants. Open to both members and non-members. REGISTER HERE
