Modern on the National Mall
Meet us at America's Mall to explore the challenges of caring for Modern Museums on the National Mall. The tour will visit I.M Pei’s National Gallery of Art - East Building, Gyo Obata’s National Air and Space Museum, and Gordon Bunshaft’s Hirshhorn Museum to explore recently completed and ongoing work to improve the exterior envelopes and visitor experiences of these Modern masterpieces. Tickets have been reversed for entry into the National Air and Space Museum. On-site talks will be led by Susan Wertheim, Chief Architect for the National Gallery of Art; Leora Mirvish, Principal, Quinn Evans Architects; Colin MacKillop, Principal, Quinn Evans Architects; and Kirill Pivovarov, Associate Principal, CRTKL Architects.
